The Moffatts Farewell Tour Live in Manila


The Canadian Pop-Rock band are returning to Manila for the first time in 16 years with brothers Scott, Clint and Bob set to perform all of their 90’s hits one last time. The boys will also be debuting material from their new projects - Endless Summer, and Scott Moffatt, respectively.

The Moffatts have two Classic Hits that rival ‘Hotel California’ for the biggest international songs of all time in the Philippines – “Miss You Like Crazy” and “If Life is So short”. To this day they remain the biggest selling international band of all time in The Philippines. The boys had the largest audience ever at the Hard Rock Café in Manila – in fact the glass at the entrance collapsed from to many people trying to get in. To add to that they once had close to 40,000 people in attendance for their SM Mega Mall show in 1998.

THE BIGGEST LITTLE PLAY FESTIVAL IN THE WORLD Short + Sweet Theatre Festival Manila 2016 marks the third season of the Festival. This year we collaborate with a brand new venue – Power Mac Center Spotlight at Circuit Makati. Featuring 30 Plays, 30 Directors and nearly 100 actors. These plays will be performed over the last two weekends of October and the first weekend of November. Tickets can be availed at the venue prior to the show.

This weekend please check out the latest version of Frank G. Rivera's  40 year old zarzuela, "Ambon, Ulan, Baha" performed by ARNAI (Artists Resource Network) presented by Sir Larry Dulay of TEKA (Teatro Kalinangan ng Aurora) on Oct. 8 & 9 at 10am, 2pm, 6pm at Centro de Baler Sports Complex. 

The musical on the environment was written years before 'Saving Mother Earth' became a slogan & environmental issues were hip. Directed by Nina V Manalo/ Choreography Teeny Obusan Singson and Dang Elio.

The Joy of Love - A Concert for the 1st Philippine Visit of Sts. Louis and Zelie Martin

Always Upon A Time - A New Musical


Once upon a time, in a land not too far away, two like-minded Kings, came together to form a bond as good as gold. Audie Gemora, King of Philippine Theater, and Butch Jimenez, King of Business linked arms in creating first professional gospel theater group in Asia – The Triumphant People’s Evangelistic Theater Society, also known as Trumpets Inc. Two years down the line, in the midst of conversations on talking mythical creatures, mermaids, and rainbow colored coats, came an enlightening beam of light that changed the company’s course completely. “Why don’t we put up a workshop?” Butch said to Audie. “You’ve been teaching theater here and there, so why don’t we make it official?”. And so in 1993, Trumpets Playshop came to be one of the country’s leading summer performing arts workshop that continues to set the stage for emerging talent.

SineMusiKalye sa Cinemalaya


Everyone is invited to the first-ever Green Carpet event of Cinemalaya entitled,“SineMusiKalye sa Cinemalaya” – a bike ride-concert-outdoor screening all in one! The green carpet is this coming Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the front lawn of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) starting at 4 PM.

Bikers and bike enthusiasts are invited to join the bike ride around the CCP complex at 4:30 PM to be led by bike organizations Firefly Brigade and Tiklop. Edward Fernandez of Gig Manila who wrote and performed for the Official Soundtrack of the film, Lakbay2Love, and other up and coming artists will serenade us with acoustic OPM. A Bigger Indie Filmfest: Cinemalaya 2016 Opens in August and Expands to Cebu


The 12th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival will be bigger this year as it expands its reach beyond Metro Manila to Cebu City this August. In Metro Manila, Cinemalaya opens at its main venue on August 5-14 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and at satellite venues at Ayala Cinemas in Greenbelt 3 and Glorietta, Makati, Trinoma and UP Town Center, Quezon City and Nuvali, Sta. Rosa. In Cebu, Cinemalaya will run from August 9-14 at Ayala Mall.

MTV Music Evolution Manila 2016 Completes Stellar Lineup


MTV Music Evolution Manila 2016 has completed its line-up with the addition of two more stellar acts set to celebrate pop music like never before on 24 June 2016 at SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. Search for the Next Pinoy K-pop Star Starts


Applications for the biggest annual talent search competition for Filipino K-pop performers and cover groups begin as Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) opens the auditions for the 2016 Pinoy K-pop Star.

The contest is the Philippine finals for the KBS K-pop World Festival Contest to be held in Changwon, South Korea. It will have two categories—the vocal category, which is the singing competition, and the performance category, which is both a singing and dancing competition with focus on the overall performance of the group.

The Philippine Educational Theater Association’s (PETA) hit comedy musical Rak of Aegis makes its 5th comeback as the company gears toward its 50th year celebration. The extraordinary spectacle of rain and flood is set to run from June 17 to August 28, 2016 with a whopping 82 shows, and features an impressive new roster of artists.

PETA’s widely popular production has garnered over 20 awards and citations since its opening on 2014, including Outstanding Original Musical, Outstanding Musical Direction, Outstanding Stage Direction, Outstanding Original Libretto to name a few. Aside from its numerous awards With multiple awards and endless stream of followers, Rak has produced a record-breaking 206 shows; indeed a feat for Philippine theater.

Stepping Out: The Musical


The play concerns eight individuals from disparate backgrounds and with differing motivations who attend the same weekly tap dancing class in a dingy church hall.

Despite the students at first treating the classes as social occasions, and showing little co-ordination, they later develop a level of skill and cohesiveness. The dance routines are the background for the focus of the play, the relationship and interaction of different people.

St. Joseph School Class of 1991 presents PETA's Mga Kwento ni Lola Basyang. Stories of magical spells, kings, and their kingdoms are back to enchant young audiences as PETA’s “Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang” visits Naga City this February 27 (Saturday) at the UNC Gym.

PETA’s longest-running play, which promotes freedom of expression among children and encourages them to participate in public activities.

3rd Singkuwento International Film Festival (SIMFF)

The 3rd Singkuwento International Film Festival (SIMFF) is slated from Feb. 18 to 27 at the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in Intramuros, Manila and from March 2 to 4 and March 7 to 8 at the UPFI UP Film Center UP Diliman Quezon City.
Festival Director Perry Escaño explains, “The members of the screening committee really had a hard time choosing the finalists. They even worked during the holidays. They went an extra mile to ensure that we have an impressive line-up. This is an exciting year for Singkuwento as we offer a variety of stories and films for exhibition. ”
