In the 29 years Philippine
Ballet Theatre has been in existence, this September 26th will mark the
first time a ballet company performs on stage with opera stars alongside
finalists from highly acclaimed The Voice Philippines - an interesting
mix indeed.
PBT’s cofounder Julie Borromeo smiles at the fact that this will be
‘...the first time that our ballet company is collaborating with opera
stars and the voice stars in a concert style production.'
Palasyo ni Valentin won the 1st
prize in the 1998 Philippine Centennial Commission Publication’s
Committee’s Centennial Literary Composition (Sarsuela Division).
A story about self-reflection in time and in history, set in 1941,
Palasyo ni Valentin is a memory play that follows the story of Valentin,
an old caretaker and film operator residing in an antiquated theater,
who revives his eventful past through alcohol reflecting the development
of the theater during the Spanish to American era of the Philippines.

college band, but began touring in 1973 when their debut album was
released. They initially had a strong following among rock and roll fans
