PETA's Haring Lear


The play is set in a post nuclear landscape that highlights the dramatic descent of a king into madness. As he is plunged into the world of anarchy, the themes of vision and blindness are explored masterfully by Shakespeare in this drama of purgation.

Lear becomes mad at the same moment when he gains a vision of the cruelty of the world and the evil nature of his daughters. He discovers the real meaning of loyalty, love, and fidelity in his servants and his youngest daughter, Cordelia, whom he banished

Ballet Philippines' "MANHID: The Pinoy Superhero Musical"


On February 2015, “MANHID: The Pinoy Superhero Musical” wraps up Ballet Philippines’ 45th anniversary season. Set in an alternate present day Philippines where the EDSA revolution failed, this musical features heroes and villains with superpowers, and a people sick with Kamanhiran (Apathy).

Leading the cast of superheroes as Bantugan “Tag-inip” Buenaventura is Sandino Martin, who recently won Best Actor at the Cinema One Originals Awards Night for his role in “Esprit de Corps”.

Classical Piano Concert By Christopher Janwong McKiggan


KMP, in partnership with the Cultural Center of the Philippines, will present a classical piano concert by acclaimed U.S.-based pianist Christopher Janwong McKiggan on February 10th at 7:30 PM at the CCP Little Theater.

From the Vatican to Tacloban - With Love, Pope Francis


When they heard last year that Pope Francis would visit the disaster victims in Leyte, producer Rose Cabrera and writer/director Nestor Torre realized that it would be an exceptionally significant occasion that should be depicted and highlighted by a new stage presentation at Cabrera's Mabuhay Restop theater cafe at Rizal Park.

The inspiration became even more appropriate when it was announced that one of the high points of the much-loved pontiff's four-day visit was a Mass for millions of people at Rizal Park - which was exactly where Mabuhay Restop was located!

Ronda Alla: Music from Around the World


The University of the Philippines College of Music opens its Faculty Concert Series for Second Semester 2014- 2015 with the performance of the University of the Philippines Rondalla(UPR) to be conducted by Ms. Elaine Espejo-Cajucom titledRonda Alla: Music from around the World on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 6:30 PM in UP Abelardo Hall Auditorium, Quezon City.

UPR aims the following: 1) to preserve and promote the rondalla music heritage; and, 2) to raise the standard of rondalla playing through: a carefully selected repertoire, developing an exquisite and challenging technique, and exploring the versatility of the rondalla.
