First Look: The Theatre at Solaire is Now Open
by ClickTheCity
Solaire Resort and Casino,
a USD $1 Billion-worth integrated resort complex, is not only a
premiere leisure and gaming destination in the Philippines. As of
November 26, 2014, when The Theatre at Solaire was formally launched,
Solaire complex is now also a state-of-the-art performance venue for
theatre plays, musicals, dance performances, and concert events.
Here’s a first-look photo essay of what to expect from the metro’s newest theater.
The Theatre at Solaire is located at the newly opened Sky Tower. It
has a separate drop-off entrance from the hotel’s main building. Getting
to the theatre’s foyer is a bit tricky because some of the elevators
are not yet operational and not all of the staff is briefed yet on where
to usher guests. But once you’re in this area, it should be easy for
you to follow the signs that lead to the lobby.
The elegantly-designed Grand Foyer is surrounded by the box-office, the Theatre Cafe and Bar, and a gift shop.
Accessible through eight doors, The Theatre is a fan-shaped,
two-storey lyric theatre with a seating capacity of 1,760. Though it
seats less than CCP's Main Theater (which can accommodate 1,821 guests),
The Theatre boasts of state-of-the-art and first-class light and sound
equipment. The Theatre is the first in the country (and one of the
firsts in Asia) to be equipped with the Constellation Acoustic System,
created by Meyer Sound. On its grand launch, ABS-CBN Philharmonic
Orchestra's Gerard Salonga demonstrated how easy it is now to apply
reverberation in one flick of a button, thanks to the Constellation
Acoustic system.

To wow its first guests for the year and showcase its modern
production technology, The Theatre at Solaire hosted a medley
performance of the country's best stage actors, musicians, and singers.
The program started with an opening musical featuring Entertainment
Director Audie Gemora. The classical suite followed with performances of
sopranos Karla Gutierrez, Myramae Meneses, Camille Lopez Molina, prima
ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, and Philippine Opera Company.

Ryan Cayabyab Singers together with the stars of contemporary Philippine
musical theater: Robert Sena, Karylle, Myke Salomon, Isay Alvarez, and
Aicelle Santos.
