Call for Participants: Sayaw Pinoy 2014 National Dance Competition
The National Committee on Dance of the
National Commission for Culture and the Arts under the leadership of
Josefina B. Guillen has organized the 2014 Sayaw Pinoy: The NCCA National Dance Competition
as part of its efforts to promote dance in its various forms. This year
the competition is on folk dance, contemporary and hip hop.
The program aims to stress the
importance of the competition as it raises the artists’ consciousness of
the value of artistic excellence. It provides opportunity for artists
to exploit and maximize their true potential. It also hopes to teach
emotional fitness through teamwork as the group experience will bring
about dependability, responsibility, commitment, sportsmanship,
discipline, creativity and awareness of the value of the art of dance.
Consequently, acquiring the value of working together as a team towards
common goals which will extend to daily undertakings beyond the
competition.
Anchored on this belief, the NCCA-NCD
stages the 2014 Sayaw Pinoy: The NCCA National Dance Competition, which
aims to promote artistic excellence in the different dance forms in the
spirit of friendly competition.

December 6: (8:00am) Registration, Briefing & Drawing of Lots
(10:00am-6:00pm) Blocking & Rehearsal
(10:00am) Folkdance (1:00pm) Contemporary (3:00pm) Hip-hop
December 7: Competition Proper
(10:00am) Folkdance (1:00pm) Contemporary (3:00pm) Hip-hop
(5:00pm) Awarding Ceremonies
Venue: St. Louis University, Baguio City
GENERAL GUIDELINES
- The Competition is open to all Filipino citizens residing in the Philippines.
- Dance categories for the 2014 competition are the following: Folk Dance,Contemporary, and Hip Hop.
- Official Entry Form only shall be submitted to the NCCA Arts Section, 5th Floor, NCCA Building, 633 Gen. Luna Street, Intramuros Manila on or before the closing date, November15, 2014at 5:00pm. Entries may also be emailed to ncca.dancecommittee2014@gmail.com; claren.ncca@yahoo.com; mgtellano@yaho.com or via fax to 5272198.
- Deadline for the submission of entries is November 15, 2014
- All participants must be at least 13 years old as of November 15, 2014.
- Each group shall be composed of a minimum of 6 dancers and a maximum of 20 dancers.
