Shrek The Musical at the Meralco Theater For Four Weeks
Everyone’s
favorite big green Ogre and his funny friends are on their way to
Manila! Shrek The Musical with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire
and music by Jeanine Tesori, will play the Meralco Theatre for four
weeks only, September 19 - October 12, 2014.
The hit Broadway and West End musical SHREK is a slightly fractured
fairytale that’s big on laughs with a tender heart at it’s core.
Audiences will delight in joining Shrek, the unlikely hero, and his
wisecracking loyal steed Donkey as they set off on a quest to rescue the
beautiful, albeit slightly neurotic, Princess Fiona from her tower
guarded by a fire breathing love-sick dragon. Add to the mix Lord
Farquaad, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a gang of fairytale misfits,
and a cookie with an attitude and you’ve got a must see musical comedy
for the whole family – Shrek the Musical.

Mahal Ko O Mahal Ako By KZ Tandingan and Edwin Marollano
Himig Handog 2014 Entry #10: "Mahal Ko O Mahal Ako" By KZ Tandingan
By: Julie Ishihara
A song for anyone who's torn between two lovers sung by KZ Tandingan in the 11th Himig Handog 2014 entry.
Who would you choose to be with: the one you love or the one that loves you?
We
were taught that it would be an effortless endeavor. But still, love is
both a feeling and an action and as human beings we're all obsessed
with possibilities. When you really think about it, these things
actually coexist in the sense that we both want to make the choice that
will maximize the outcome of every possible situation, and we don’t want
to leave that to chance. Yet the thing that (arguably) we feel matters
most, we do leave to chance: love.
This big
romantic dilemma has now been translated to a beautiful song, penned
down by Edwin Marollano and interpreted by X-Factor Philippines winner
KZ Tandingan.

Red Turnip's 'Cock' Returns
After
making a splash during its Manila premiere last February, Red Turnip
Theater is bringing back the Olivier Award-winning play "Cock" for a
limited one weekend re-run this October. Mike Bartlett's comedy about
sexual identity was a surprise smash, playing to packed houses and
critical acclaim. It also marked the directorial debut of Rem Zamora who
created a stir with his "innovative" (PEP.ph) and "creative" (Business
World) staging; a bare stage with only his four actors and Bartlett's
witty script.
