UP SPECA Speech Cup - In Honor of Andres Bonifacio’s Sesquicentennial Birth Anniversary

For this year, the University of the Philippines Speech Communication Association (UP SPECA) offers its flagship event, the UP SPECA Speech Cup, in honor of Andres Bonifacio’s Sesquicentennial Birth Anniversary. The theme of this year’s Speech Cup is “The Supremo’s Legacy: Echoes of Balintawak in the 21st Century.”

The Speech Cup, which is open to high schools and colleges within Metro and Mega Manila, includes competitions in Oral Interpretation (for solo performers) and Speech Choir. Through the Speech Cup, UP SPECA aims to provide the youth with an opportunity to express themselves through performance art.

This year’s Speech Cup celebrates the legacy of the Great Plebeian’s courage and leadership which resulted in what historians acknowledge as the greatest event in this nation’s history- the Philippine Revolution.

The participating schools for this year’s Speech Cup are Colegio San Agustin-Biñan, Fiore del Carmelo School, Miriam College High School, Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College, San Roque High School, St. Joseph College of Novaliches, Inc., St. Paul College, Pasig and Will School of Antipolo, Inc.

Speech Cup 2013 is also brought to you by Revive Urself Beauty and Spa. UP SPECA also gives its special thanks to Cha Dao Tea Place, MA Printing and Raymond Fortun Photography.

Join us in rekindling our youth’s patriotism through speech communication on November 30, 1pm at the College of Engineering Theatre, University of the Philippines Diliman.
