Canada's Urban Crawl and the PETA Theater Center present the Philippine premiere of Nanay, a site-specific, performance installation. Shows will be in various spaces at the PETA Theater Center, on November 25-30, 2013, at 7:00 PM, 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM. Tickets are at P350 each.
Director Alex Ferguson will be working with Patrick Keating, Hazel Venzon, Erin Wells, actors from the original Canadian run, as well as with local talents from the Philippine Educational Theater Association: Marichu Belarmino, Angelica Heruela, Joanna Lerio and She Maala.
Nanay takes the audiences throughout depictions of families that migrate to Canada through the Canada's Live-In Caregiver Program. Scenes devised from testimonials of actual Canadian employers, the women OFWs and their families will be performed in unconventional spaces such as office cubicles and staircases.
This multi media event will accommodate only a maximum 30 audience members per show, as the audience moves around the venue in different groups. Each group goes through one encounter after another differently from the other groups, for a unique and engaging experience.
