Manila Chamber Orchestra Foundation’s Young Artists’ Series 2013 next offering features tenor Ivan Niccolo Nery on September 18, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Ayala Museum, Makati Ave. cor. De la Rosa St., Makati City.
A student of soprano Camille Lopez-Molina and tenor Pablo Molina at the St. Scholastica’s College in Manila, He was the Grand Prize winner of the Jovita Fuentes Vocal Competition (2012) and was nominated as Best Young Actor in a musical for his portrayal as Crisostomo Ibarra in Felipe de Leon’s opera “Noli Me Tangere”.
Most recently, he was the understudy for the role of Don Jose and performed the role of Remendado in the Lyropera and MSO’s production of Bizet’s Carmen, he was also the understudy for the role of Pinkerton in MusicArte’s production of Puccini’s Madam Butterfly held at the CCP last June.
He has participate and attended masterclass handled by Gian Luca Pasolini, Arthur Espiritu, Alexander Vikulov, Victoria Rapanan, Margarita Gomez- Gianelli, Katrina Saporsantos to name a few as well as workshop conducted by Florence Guignolet and Stephane Werchowski from Conservatoire a Rayonnement Regional de Paris.
In this performance, he will be assisted by pianist Najib Ismail. Program includes songs by Tosti, Mozart, R. Strauss, Torelli, Puccini and Faure.
