This
Sunday, June 2, 2013, starting at 6:00 p.m., at the Rizal Park Central,
Manila, the pride of Sta. Maria, Bulacan, Banda 31, with Michael
Jacinto, Racquel Belostrino and Paul Geliberte, conductors, takes center
stage in Concert at the Park in a program of popular band music.
Featured soloists are piccolo player Bryan Feliciano, tenor Joseph de la Cruz, soprano Katrine Sunga, and Paul Geliberte, alto sax player.Ms. Janzelle Tolentino hosts the show. Admission is free.
Concert at the Park is a regular weekly public service project of the Department of Tourism, under Sec. Ramon Jimenez, Jr., the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC), under Executive Director Juliet H. Villegas, and the People’s Television Network. NPDC Chief of the Cultural & Public Affairs Mr. Freddie A. Edos is the Executive in Charge of the project. Gie V. Arnold writes the script.
Banda 31 Original of Sta. Maria, Bulacan, first started with only 28 members when it was formed on May 31, 1931. At present, the band is an all-youth ensemble of 120 members and has continued to build and develop a clear vision of its goals by setting the highest possible standards in the field of performing arts, under the helm of its young leaders. The band promises to continue the legacies and traditions of which Banda 31 is known for ? all for the love of music. Banda 31 is the recipient of the Gintong Kabataan Award for the Performing Arts of the Provincial Youth for Sports, Employment, Arts & Culture Office of the Provincial Government of Bulacan in 2010.
Admission to Concert at the Park is free of charge. The public is cordially invited.
