Concert at the Park Presents Breakfast Club

For its 35th year, Concert at the Park focuses on the Pinoy Show Bands this April, starting with the Breakfast Club this Sunday, April 7, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. And since the Open-Air Auditorium is still under rehabilitation, the concert venue will be at the Rizal Park Central. Ms. Janzelle Tolentino is guest host

Concert at the Park is a weekly public service project of the Department of Tourism, under Sec. Ramon Jimenez, Jr., the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC), under Executive Director Juliet H. Villegas, and the People’s Television. NPDC Chief of the Cultural & Public Affairs Mr. Federico A. Edos is the Executive in Charge of the project. Gie V. Arnold writes the script.

Concert at the Park had its initial presentation in April 1978 at the Rizal Park Open-Air Auditorium. It was originally intended as a series of only seven concerts. But the late Teodoro Valencia, the builder of Rizal Park, paved the way to make the concerts a regular attraction at the Park, with the support of several public and private sectors. In 1990, Concert at the Park became the recipient of the Hall of Fame Award from the prestigious Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA). To date, Concert at the Park has presented.

The Breakfast Club was formed in 2001 and has become a favorite crowd-drawer in the local music circuit. The club is composed of vocalists Rej Alduna, Josef Sucano and Krizia Narraga, keyboard player Mike Cappal, lead guitarist Tholits Bono, bass guitarist Ricky Catambis and drummer Guilbert Opleda. The band has prepared the following program for their Sunday’s concert at the Park: BOTTOMS UP (Nicki Minaj); SHOTS LMFAO (Smith/Gordy/Gordy/de la Torre); LOOK AT ME NOW (Chris Brown); TELL ME (J. Albert); TURNING TABLES (Adele); I DON’T WANNA MISS A THING (D. Warren); SISTER ACT ( Slater/Menken); GIVE ME EVERYTHING (Pitbull); DANCE AGAIN (AJ Junior); PAPI (RedOne); DOMINO and RAISE YOUR GLASS (Pink).

Admission to Concert at the Park is free of charge. The public is cordially invited.
