LABAW DONGGON: Ang Banog ng Sanlibutan Extended!

The epic continues on February 21 and 22 at the Cervini Field of the Ateneo de Manila University, every seven o’clock in the evening.
In its three weeks, the must-watch musical-drama adaptation of Panay hero Labaw Donggon written by Nicanor Tiongson left its audience in awe with the superb direction of Jerry Respeto, original music of award-winning composers Jema Pamintuan and Terresa Barrozo, and contemporary choreography of Gio Gahol and Elena Laniog.

A review of renowned director Pat Valera said, “The conversation between text, direction, production, choreography, music and lights is delicate and seamless. More beautiful is the outpouring of love from the student actors, alumni and guest actors. Nicco Manalo as Labaw Donggon was clear and eternally present while JJ Ignacio as Saragnayan simply breaks your heart."

Among the actors are Banaue Miclat-Janssen of TP Repertory Philippines and Nicco Manalo of PETA who plays the protagonist, Labaw Donggon. The production is composed of professional and experienced theater actors, an artistic team of renowned theater designers and directors, and a well-trained production team - all coming from various theatrical roots such as PETA, Sipat-Lawin Ensemble, Tanghalang Pilipino, Repertory Philippines, UP Repertory Company, Dulaang UP, Sharazade, Teatro Baguntao, Tanghalang Ateneo, and Philippine High School for the Arts.

Don’t miss this chance! Watch ENTA’s showcase of Filipino culture all performed in the great outdoor theatrical experience the director has envisioned.
