Meridian International College Presents Isolation Room

Harlequin Theater Guild Presents The Sky Over Dimas

 
The Harlequin Theatre Guild of De La Salle University brings to life this March a celebrated novel by Palanca Award winner Vicente Groyon, translated for the stage by Tim Dacanay.
This piece tells the story of how a disturbing phone call in the dead of the night launches young Rafael Torrecarion on a rescue mission in Bacolod. Returning to his hometown leads him deep into the tortured history of the Torrecarions, where lies a web of long-buried secrets, preserving, and threatening the foundations of the family.

DESCRIPTION:

A week before Holy Week, Mobile Theater Foundation (formerly Tanghalang Sta. Ana)  presents “Martir sa Golgota”, a senakulo play on the life and passion of Jesus Christ. This is the group’s long running production since its inception in 1989 and it  features around 70 actors mostly volunteer residents of Sta. Ana and invited TV, movie and stage personalities like Migui Moreno, Bodgie Pascua, Archie Adamos to name a few. Directed by Lou Veloso.

An Evening Spring Festival - The Musics of East Asia

 
The resident East Asian ensembles of the Department of Musicology, UP College of Music will present a memorable concert on Thursday February 28, 6:30 pm at the Abelardo Hall Auditorium.
In tune with the spirit of the changing season, it features the Department’s Korean percussion ensemble samulnori, Chinese music ensemble sizhu and Japanese koto ensemble.

Gina Marie's Return To Manila - Something Wonderful

 
Gina Respall, Something Wonderful, marks Gina's return to the Manila scene after performing in west end shows in UK.
It captures Gina's versatility as a performer, showcasing music she performed in her whole career, which includes songs with the band, Artstart, (originally formed with singer-songwriter Pido Lalimarmo and Ellamae Saison) and songs from other genres, namely, pop, jazz, musical theatre and OPM.

Special guest for this event is Joey G of Side A. Other added surprises may be expected.

Les Miserables: The Motion Picture Soundtrack Deluxe Edition – In Stores March 18, 2013!

MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines) is proud to announce that an expanded, two-disc deluxe edition of the soundtrack to the film version of Les Miserables will be released next month. The complete Motion Picture Soundtrack will have 22 more tracks than the Highlights edition currently available.
Available in both physical and digital formats, the full soundtrack is expected to be in stores by March 18. The Highlights edition, which has 20 tracks in all, currently tops the UK album chart and is the fastest-selling album in the UK this year.

2PM Live Tour in Manila

Korean boy band sensation 2PM is coming for its first-ever concert in Manila this March. The most awaited Philippine concert debut dubbed as 2013 2PM Live Tour “What time is it” is set to thrill audiences on March 2 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Ibalong The Musical at the CCP

Japanese and Filipino Puppet and Mask Artists at the CCP


Japanese and Filipino puppet and mask artists will perform at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Tanghalang Batute on February 12, 2013 at 3:00pm.


The Naoshima Onna Bunraku, an all-women community puppetry troupe from the southern Japanese island of Naoshima, will perform Bunraku pieces Dango Uri (The Dumpling Peddlers), Keisei Awa no Naruto Junreika no Dan (The Song of a Pilgrim scene from The Courtesan at Awa), while the UP Center for International Studies Bunraku Ensemble will present Ebisu Mai (The Dance of Ebisu).

Rody Vera's "D Wonder Twins of Boac" runs at the PETA Theater Center


Award-winning Filipino playwright Rody Vera retells "Twelfth Night," William Shakespeare's comedy of errors in the Philippine Educational Theater Association's (PETA) comedy-musical, "D Wonder Twins of Boac."

Shakespeare's ancient Illyria and the 60's rock 'n' roll era in Manila seem to lack similarities, but the fact that Vera--who is skilled in the craft--is able to do a fitting adaptation only proves the universality of Shakespeare's work as it resonates in another time.
