The
Cultural Center of the Philippines is pleased to announce that the
internationally renowned Filipino Tenor Arthur Espiritu will be giving
individualized vocal coaching sessions on February 13, 14 & 15,
2013, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the Silangan Hall, 4th floor, Cultural
Center of the Philippines. The sessions are open to young professional
singers and senior students pursuing careers in classical and opera
singing.
The daily sessions will commence with a lecture on “Preparing for a Classical Singing Career”, which include audition etiquette and international career opportunities from 2-2:30 PM.
Arthur Espiritu was the recipient of 2009 George London Award, La Scala Award as part of the Belvedere Vocal Competition in Vienna, Austria, 2nd Place in the Irene Dalis Vocal Competition, the Rose-Palmai Tenser Mobile Opera Guild Award, 2nd place in the Opera Birmingham Voice Competition, 2nd place in the Regional Finals of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition, an encouragement award from the Gerda Lissner Foundation and The National Opera Association Voice Competition.
He received an Artist Diploma from Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Music degree from the University of New Orleans. He performed as “Alfredo" in Verdi’s La Traviata and as "Almaviva" in Rossini’s Barbiere di Siviglia at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2012.
