Concert at the Park Presents The Angelos

For its year-ending program, Concert at the Park presents the Angelos, a classical-pop tenor group, composed of Paolo Libiran, Louie Abaigar and George Tagle, this Sunday, December 30, 2012, starting at 6:00 p.m 
Concert at the Park is a regular public service project of the Department of Tourism, under Sec. Ramon Jimenez, Jr. , the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC), under Executive Director Juliet H. Villegas, and the People’s Television Four. NPDC Chief of the Cultural & Public Affairs Mr. Freddie A. Edos is the Executive In Charge of the project. Gie V. Arnold writes the script.

Tenor George Sison-Tagle, a former member of the Philippine Opera Company, founded the Angelos in 2007. Tagged by the local media as Asia’s answer to Il Divo, the group has been travelling and performing all over the world, with a repertoire that consists of six different languages (Filipino, English, Spanish, Chinese, Italian and Malay) in a genre that crosses-over from pop, rock to classical. The group is the 2009 Aliw Award’s Best Group Performance in the Concert category.

Member George Tagle, son of renowned painter E.R. Tagle, is known as “The Singing Painter” and co-owns a music and art school where he teaches voice and art techniques. Member John Louie Abaigar was a finalist of GMA 7’s Pinoy Pop Superstar (Year 3). A product of the Centro Escolar University Conservaoty of Music, he was a contract talent of GMA 7 for 3 years, where he was a regular SOP artist. A composer, he did the carrier single of the group’s Christmas album, titled “It’s Christmas Eve”. Member Rei Paolo Libiran is another product of CEU Conservatory of Music. He plays the piano, guitar and drums as well as composes on the side. He was a member of the Manila Vocal Ensemble in 2009 and had a three-month concert tour in Switzerland.

Admission to Concert at the Park is free of charge. The public is cordially invited.
