Pianists
are invited to attend the piano masterclass of Argentinian concert
pianist and chamber musician Emilio Peroni on Wednesday, October 31 from
9:30 AM to 12:30 noon at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little
Theater) of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Limited slots are
available for masterclass participants. Observers are welcome to attend
the masterclass which is free of charge. The master class is a project
of the CCP Artist Training Division.
Peroni is in the Philippines for a
performance in the same venue on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 through the
courtesy of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Manila.
Peroni
was born in Neuquén, Argentina in 1977. He began studying the piano
with Miguel Martín Morales and Aldo Antognazzi in his homeland and
continued further studies with Carlo Bruno in Italy, Angel Soler in
Spain, and Bruno Leonardo Gelber. He received his Konzertexam in Piano
Performance and Chamber Music at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in
Rostock, Germany under the tutelage of Bernd Zack.
Peroni
has received prizes in several competitions. He has performed
throughout Argentina, Italy, Holland, France, Latvia, England and
Germany. He made several radio and television broadcasts for NDR-Start
and Bavaria Radio, and released his own CD recordings of the classic
masterpieces.
Peroni
commands an extraordinary repertoire that encompasses more than twenty
solo programs. He has programmed concerts with works exclusively by
Bach, Chopin, Schumann, Liszt, Mendelssohn, and Debussy as well as
performances of modern music by composers such as Berio, Rihm, David
Bedford, Pedro Saenz, and Boulez. Emilio also specializes in
rarely-performed works by Zipoli, Ginastera, Alberto Williams, Carlos
Guastavino, and Juan José Castro, among others.
