Music, Film and Culture at the Shangri-la Plaza EDSA

Preferred lifestyle hub Shangri-La Plaza showcases the beauty and diversity of music and film this September as it unveils its rich line-up of events and activities for the month.

Tenor Raymond Roldan and soprano Jeannelle Bihag - both talented alumni of the UP Concert Chorus and acclaimed performers of The Royal London Circus - unleash their powerful vocal brilliance as they sing excerpts from broadway musicals on September 15, 5pm at the Grand Atrium, Level 2, with Broadway Musical with a Tenor & a Soprano.

For cinephiles and culture buffs, catch the 15th Cine Europa Film Festival until September 16 at the Shang Cineplex, Level 6, and indulge in the distinct styles and forms of authentic European film masterpieces.


On September 25, experience another round of Italian film pleasures with the Shang’s ongoing special series, A Date with Italian Cinema @ the Shang, this time featuring renowned auteur Marco Belocchio’s Vincere (Victory) - screening at 12:30pm, 3:00pm, 5:30pm and 8:00pm, also at the Shang Cineplex, Level 6.Roughly based on the books Mussolini’s Marriage by Marco Zeni and Mussolini’s Secret Child by Alfredo Pieroni, as well as the documentary Mussolini’s Secret, Vincere is a compelling and eye-opening drama revolving around the little-known story of Benito Mussolini’s first wife.


Finally, the Ateneo Confucius Institute and Chinoy TV present Mid Autumn Festival on September 30, from 12:00nn at the Grand Atrium, Level 2, featuring laudable dance performances by Chinoy TV as well as the chance to win exciting prizes at the traditional dice game.
