MMQs Le Cabaret Celebration

MMQ is pleased to announce their Gala extravaganza--MMQs Le Cabaret 6 scheduled for Saturday, September 15, 2012, at the Dusit Thani Hotel Makati. The champagne begins to flow at 7pm in the ballroom for this year's theme - Speakeasy Cabaret. Like all MMQ programs, this year's Gala is based on historical events.

Ladies & Gentlemen, let MMQ take you back in time to America’s Prohibition Era--a time when FUN & Gaiety (& certainly alcohol) was frowned upon (& virtually illegal) in the United States. Americans took to secret (Sssshhhhhh...Speakeasy!!!) spaces that with an invitation to these out-of-the-way joints & the secret password, patrons were able to experience all the alcohol they could imbibe & all the good times they could handle. The American Cabaret flourished in this type of atmosphere because Cabarets are filled with an abundance of gaiety & naughtiness.

MMQs Le Cabaret celebration is no exception. It's a night of sweet indulgence where with the price of a ticket & the “secret password” you'll enjoy free-flowing champagne & wines, Prohibition Cocktails, a 4-course French dinner, & a Fabulous Cabaret Show you'll not soon forget--Speakeasy style! There will be Persian carpets, airline tickets, luxury resorts, and other exceptional (some one-of-a-kind) prizes for auction & raffle, & prizes for Best-Dressed/Costumes--ALL for Charity & FUN's Sake.

MMQ's mission is to bring together Filipino & International artists (like Repertory Philippines’ Pinky Mendoza, 9Works’ OJ Mariano, the Drag On’s Cabaret Dancers, Czech Cabaret Artist Marnie Hurst, & French Choreographer Virginie Bernard) & audiences to enjoy FUN performance art & theatre events that generate funds to improve the lives of women & children in extreme hardship situations.

Since MMQ's inception in 2007, millions of pesos have been raised & donated to worthwhile women's & children's charities throughout the Philippines, such as Kaibigan Ermita, ABS-CBN Children's Foundation, SAGIP, Hospicio de San Jose, Eva Charity Foundation, & Bossom Buddies. This year MMQ will donate Le Cabaret proceeds to Shiphrah Birthing Home’s midwives’ training program & Stairway Foundation, Inc., a learning & resource center for children’s rights that uses theatre as therapy.
