The Ryan Cayabyab Singers in Concert @ The Music Museum

The Ryan Cayabyab Singers are celebrating their fifth year in the music business with the season’s must-see concert, “RCS 7,” on July 7, 2012 at Music Museum, written and directed by Rito Asilo.

Mr. C’s formidable vocal septet is made up of Anezka Alvarez, Kaich Tiuseco, Poppert Bernadas, Celine Fabie, Erwin Lacsa, VJ Caber and Vince Lim, who follow in the footsteps of other acclaimed vocal groups nurtured by the country’s favorite Music Man, including Smokey Mountain, Kaya and 14K.

Great music will live on forever, but Cayabyab, who is the concert’s musical director, sees the need to continue honing young people’s performing gifts to suit the industry’s constantly evolving musical tastes. He explains, “My passion for training new talent comes from my belief that the next generation should be better than the ones that precede them. Train them and teach them everything you know, because that’ll benefit the country.”

Jolina Magdangal, an alumna of 14K, will join RCS in a special production number. If you love great music and show-stopping performances, you don’t want to miss “RCS 7,” which will have the group singing Cayabyab’s enduring ballads like “Tunay Na Ligaya,” “Magbalik Ka Na Mahal” and “Paraiso,” as well as fully-choreographed versions of “Nais Ko” and “Hibang Sa Awit.”

Also something to look forward to are RCS’ production numbers, like “Katy Medley,” “Hard Work,” the unique, tap-inspired mashup of “Mamang Kutsero” and Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger,” and other special numbers choreographed by Dexter Santos and Bim Ebol.
