Young Historian's Prize 2012 Winners

NCCA names Young Historian’s Prize 2012 Winners

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), through the Executive Council of the National Committee on Historical Research (NHCR), is pleased to announce the result of the judging for the Young Historian’s Prize 2012 held last May 28, 2012 at the NCCA Building in Intramuros, Manila. This year’s winners are:

Dr. Ma. Florina Y. Orillos-Juan for her manuscript entitled Kasaysayan at Vulnerabilidad: Ang Kabihasnan at Lipunang Pilipino sa Harap ng Pananalasa ng Balang 1569-1949. Dr. Orillos-Juan is an assistant professor at the History Department of De La Salle University Manila.

Ms. Janet B. Reguindin for her manuscript entitled Si Dr. Dioscoro L. Umali (1917-1992) at ang Kanyang Ambag sa Sektor ng Agrikultura sa Pilipinas. Ms. Reguindin is a senior lecturer at the Social Sciences Department of Miriam College.

The Young Historian’s Prize is a project of the NHCR Executive Council which aims to recognize outstanding works by young Filipino historians who are 21-40 years of age.

Awarding ceremonies will be held on July 16, 2012 at the NCCA Bldg.
