Theater Workshop for Kids & Adults @ International School Manila

Children 7-12 years old--Taught by Ms. Sarah Purdue, of the International School Manila (ISM), whose specialty is Children’s Theatre.

This workshop is for enhancing your child’s theatricality. Also, through mime & improvisation, participants will develop further their communication & problem solving skills, in a positive environment.

Adults 18 & over - Taught by Professor Michelle Washington, of the University of the Philippines, Department of Speech Communication & Theatre Arts. Michelle specializes in teaching grownups theatre history & practicum.

She holds an undergraduate specialization in Theatre Production from the University of the District of Columbia (magna cum laude), a Masters in Theatre Performance, History, & Theory from the University of Maryland, & a Masters in Theatre Management from American University in Washington, D.C. This workshop is designed for those who love thinking on their feet (quick thinking) & enjoy ways we communicate non-verbally.
br />An Adult’s & a separate Children’s Theatre Workshop on the same day with concentrations in mime & masks, along with improvisation & acting.

Children will be introduced to the special world of acting with masks and perform a play they design themselves at the end of the workshop day (around 4pm). Kids will create their masks and take them home at the end of a FUN THEATRICAL DAY!

Saturday, May 26, 2012, 9am to 5pm - one day only. Performance of show created SEPARATELY by BOTH the children in their workshop & the adults in their workshop, and will occur around 4pm.

Children Only P1,000 EACH!!! Adults only P2,000 EACH!!! Enrollment slots are limited. NO WALK-INS allowed at ISM.

24/7 DROP OFF for envelopes addressed to MICHELLE WASHINGTON/MMQ at the Concierge of One Roxas Triangle with your and/or your child’s admission in cash OR check made to MMQ before MAY 21at 5PM.

Although some materials will be provided, ALL ENROLLEES are invited to bring items they would like to decorate and personalize their masks with to make them their own.

Snacks, refreshments, and Lunch, along with water will be served. Each student receives a certificate upon completion of their FUN DAY & Performance.
