Exhibit of New Works By Lor and Ed Calma

In line with its 8th anniversary celebration, LRI Design Plaza proudly presents “Lor and Ed Calma: An Exhibit of New Works" showcasing the father and son team of Architects Lor and Ed Calma.

This is the first exhibit that highlights the architectural work of Ed Calma and the sculptures of Lor Calma. The exhibit shows the firm’s experience in diverse building typologies in last 12 years.

The exhibit will show sculptural concept models made in metal glass and plaster and analysis drawings showing how forms and spatial ideas are derived. The work shows how the design of every project evolves out from the play of material technology, functional program, and context on the site.

Among those which will be featured include the Calma Residence, Ed Calma's own private residence that he calls "The Slice House"; a private residence of the Laude’s called "The Edge House "; the Hi Kian Yu and Cuaresma residences.

For the buildings, to be featured are the Clipp Center, an office condominium located in Taguig; and The Rice Blade.

For museum enthusiasts, it will be very interesting to check out the Agrarian Museum, a science museum in Baler, Aurora Quezon; the UP Manila Museum, a museum provided for the students of the UP Manila College of Medicine that can hold multiple functions and the Mind Museum, the first world-class science museum in Asia located at The Fort BGC, Taguig.

Equally an architect’s dream is to see how the finer details of how The Calma’s have designed the “Serendra Bridge, ” a private bridge way for the residents of the Serendra complex that enables them to cross the 26th street at The Fort.

Also to be featured is the “ Expo Zaragosa, ” a Pavilion Project that was exhibited in Zaragosa, Spain in 2008. This won a gold medal for design.
