Anggulo or (Angle) which could mean perspective and if given a word play could also mean chaotic (Ang Gulo).

Solo Exhibition by Cesare A.X. Syjuco

Multi-awarded art iconoclast Cesare A.X. Syjuco unveils a rare solo exhibition of his literary hybrids at Galleria Duemila.

As a fiercely imaginative “poet of the gallery”, Syjuco forges the connection between the visual arts and literature with his innovative use of a variety of mediums from neon, to backlit acrylic and tarpaulin panels, to video projections, vitrines, and others.

Mumbai Nights Exhibit

To say that Katrina Pallon and Raul "Ponj" Roco Jr.'s exhibit in F*ART Fashion ART Gallery, entitled "Tattoo My Colors" is merely an exploration of colors would be an understatement.

While thematically, the works by the two artists might, as one can immediately glean from the title, be about colors, Pallon and Roco's styles reveal their differing perspectives when it comes to chromatic expressions. One notices how the former's tempered approach contrasts with the latter's more liberal hue preferences.

Ferdie Montemayor's Solo Exhibit

Tin-Aw Art Gallery presents “1,” a solo exhibition of recent works by  visual artist  Ferdie Montemayor. The monochrome acrylic paintings depict crowds rushing to destinations known only to them.

These medium scale works on canvas show cycling figures, running  bodies, and congregations in a range of movement. Swarms of bodies  plod pavements in measured steps, furiously pump bicycles, and  rhythmically jog to the finish. The artist’s fluid and dense  brushwork and figures that ease out and fill pictorial space conjure a  tense atmosphere of deluge and rush.

Jonathan Ching and At Maculangan’s tandem exhibition

Jonathan Ching and At Maculangan’s tandem exhibition, ‘As Is, Where Is’, takes off from what is common and obvious as a backdrop for the more hidden and out-of-sight processes in painting.

The term ‘As Is, Where Is’ does not necessarily translate into ‘What you see is what you get’, it is actually a safeguard against implied warranties from conditions, which may or may not be readily apparent. Both artists work with photographic images as a base for their paintings, insinuating the possibility of covert operations beneath the veneer of familiarity in pictures.

MM Yu's Photographs

MM Yu's photographs capture the reality of the supply and demand of desire through the management of merchandise into patterns of abstraction.

What is presented is a set of images juxtaposed against each other to produce meaning that invites the viewer to make connections about material culture towards a multiplicity of interpretations, which constructs a matrix of wanted goods, fantastic ideals, and real needs. Confined within the sanctuary of a four-walled universe are chance elements that when strewn altogether produce a perfect beauty arresting in its chaos.
