Creative Way to Learn the Basics of Drumming

For thousand of years, the drum has been used for healing purposes throughout the world as a tool for social integration, for restoring harmony in relationships, for improving mental concentration (as well as psychomotor coordination) and for experiencing pure joy.

In this 3-day workshop, you will learn the basics of drumming:
  • proper way of holding a drum
  • proper way of hitting a drum to bring out the right sound
  • simple improvisations
  • 10 basic patterns using the Gong-Gu-Du-Pa-Ta method developed by Tambolista Mike ‘Mitu’ Tupas; some of which are used by the southern tribes in Maguindanao.
On the last day, participants get the chance to experience the joy of being witnessed as they showcase their drumming skills in the presence of family and friends.
