For thousand of years, the drum has been used for healing purposes throughout the world as a tool for social integration, for restoring harmony in relationships, for improving mental concentration (as well as psychomotor coordination) and for experiencing pure joy.

In this 3-day workshop, you will learn the basics of drumming:
- proper way of holding a drum
- proper way of hitting a drum to bring out the right sound
- simple improvisations
- 10 basic patterns using the Gong-Gu-Du-Pa-Ta method developed by Tambolista Mike ‘Mitu’ Tupas; some of which are used by the southern tribes in Maguindanao.
Facilitator: Yeyette San Luis
An accountant by profession and a singer-composer-energy healer by passion, Yeyette's distinguished mark as an artist lies in her ability to sing from the heart. Since 2002, she has co-facilitated a number of creative art workshops, retreats, and indigenous instrument workshops for women and youths. Yeyette studied drumming under the mentorship of renowned Tambolista Mitu Tupas. She is one of the board of directors of GINHAWA, Inc. - an NGO that advocates personal well-being and societal wellness through integrating spirituality, creativity and well-being.
