THE CCP Choral Workshop 2011 (more popularly known as the CCP Hands-on Choral Workshop) will be held on October 25-29, 2011 from 9am to 6pm in various venues of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The Choral Workshop is a choral clinic open to amateur choirs and choral conductors who wish to hone their skills in choral singing, conducting and performance. Now on its 11th year, the Workshop has trained choirs and conductors from different parts of the country, some of whom have already competed and won in local and international choral competitions.

The Philippine Madrigal Singers, led by choirmaster Mark Anthony Carpio, leads the team of trainors composed of the present members and alumni of the world renowned choral ensemble. The ensemble recently staged a highly successful six-month concert tour to the United States and South America, which included the celebrated performances with Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City, and at the 9th World Symposium on Choral Music held in Patagonia, Argentina in August.

The Workshop will culminate in a concert at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (CCP Main Theater) on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 3 p.m. featuring all the participating choirs and conductors. Since the Workshop accepts only a limited number of choirs, registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.

For inquiries, please contact the CCP Music Division at 832-1125 loc. 1604/1605.
