PASINAYA 2011: THE CCP OPEN HOUSE FESTIVAL
The most popular one day multi-arts festival features more than 80 shows and 2000 participating artists led by the Resident Companies of the CCP. Artists perform previews of the upcoming music, theater and dance season. The festival also features visual arts exhibits, film screenings, storytelling sessions, an arts and crafts market. See all you can, pay what you can.

2010-2011 PPO SEASON CONCERT VI: “TIANWA YANG PLAYS BRAHMS”

Tianwa Yang, violin
Tianwa Yang has appeared with such orchestras as the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Baden Baden Symphony Orchestra and Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Yang performs the magnificent violin concerto of Johannes Brahms with Maestro Ochanine. The most famous four notes in classical music open the 5th Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven, which is the first work of this PPO Series concert. Also on the program is Bennett’s widely popular arrangement of music from Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess.

DOUBLE A: A DUO-PIANO CONCERT FEATURING ABELARDO GALANG II AND JOSE ARTEMIO PANGANIBAN III
Berlin-based Filipino concert pianist and recording artist Abelardo Galang II and award-winning pianist and New York banking professional Jose Artemio Panganiban III return to the CCP stage in a concert of works for two pianos by Brahms, Poulenc and Rachmaninoff.

Miguel de Cervantes’s tale of love, valor and unflinching idealism is staged as ballet. Guest soloist Connor Walsh of the Houston Ballet performs with the Ballet Philippines. Staged by BP stalwart Noordin Jumalon with design by National Artist for Theater Salvador Bernal. Accompanied live by the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.

This rousingly funny hit musical returns! Now on its sixth year, the beloved parlorista superhero(ine), is back in fighting form to defend a small town from a giant frog, rampaging zombies and power-tripping planet women. Movie star Eula Valdez reprises her role as the stunning red-haired warrior who saves the world with her frilly-mouthed assistant. Chris Millado directs with a new set design by Gino Gonzales.

EXHIBITS

03 February to 02 April 2011
ALTERATIONS solo exhibition by Randalf C. Dilla. The exhibit takes off from the artist’s observation of body modifications, ranging from indigenous markings by way of tattoos, scars, piercings and adornments that symbolize rites of passage; to present-day plastic augmentations for beauty and reconstruction. The artist envisions the merging of the artificial and the natural within individual bodies, serving to redefine our notion of self and identity. Randalf C. Dilla hails from Basco, Batanes and since 2004 has been an awardee of various national art competitionsincluding First Place in the 2007 GSIS Painting Competition. He is a Fine Arts major from FEATI University, graduating with distinction in 2008.

Lenore RS Lim: FULL CIRCLE is a twenty-year retrospective of an artists’ journey in printmaking, revealing a total sense of awe at nature’s intimate grandeur, through an exciting plethora of traditional and cutting edge techniques.
Lenore RS Lim was awarded the 2004 Pamana ng Pilipino, Republic of the Philippines; and 2009 One Hundred Most Influential Filipinas in the USA. She was a grantee of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and is represented by Paul Sharpe Contemporary in New York.
