Indigenous Peoples Festival By NCCA

A celebration of Philippine indigenous cultures

Most of the indigenous groups of the Philippines will gather together from October to November to celebrate their traditional cultures and heritage in celebration of National Indigenous Peoples’ Month.
Said to be biggest gathering of Philippine indigenous peoples (IP) by far, Dayaw 2014: The Indigenous Peoples Festival, annually held by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the government agency for arts and culture headed by its chairman Felipe M. De Leon Jr., will showcase traditional cuisines, games, rituals, dances, songs, practices and crafts in effort to engender wider awareness and appreciation for indigenous cultures, which are constantly under the threat of vanishing. It will also as a venue for different indigenous ethnic groups to interact with each other and to learn from one another as well as to express their views on issues concerning them.

OPEN AUDITIONS to the theater production under ‪#‎NDMstudios‬ of Lualhati Bautista's ‪#‎DEKADA70‬. To be directed by award-winning, best-selling writer-director, Frank G. Rivera, this official play version of the classic novel will be brought to life for the very first time. The massive callbacks and final open auditions will be held at ‪#‎FISHERMALL‬ (Quezon Ave., QC 3rd Flr. ‪#‎CrossfitHalcyon‬) on Oct. 25, 2014 (10am-2pm). Choral Lifeline: Mentorship on Children's Choir


The Neo Nocturne, a non-sectarian mixed choir, believe that choral performance in the Philippines has already reached a level of maturity as evident in the generous harvest of accolade and recognition of choral groups in the archipelago and abroad.

As part of our 7th Season project, Neo Nocturne will present the Choral@turo 2014 at the Fleur-de-Lis Auditorium, St. Paul University in Manila on October 25, 2014 at 5:30. Choral Lifeline: Mentorship on Children's Choir will also present topics that are tried and tested elements with the Mandaluyong Children's Choir which will be useful as well for other choir settings such as adult mixed choir or youth choirs.

Musica Y Poesia: An Evening of Fine Guitar Music and Poetry


The UP College of Music presents Musica Y Poesia: An Evening of Fine Guitar Music and Poetry at 6:30 pm on Thursday, October 23 at the Abelardo Hall Auditorium, UP College of Music. The concert is part of its on-going faculty concert season for academic year 2014-2015.

Spearheaded by the Strings and Chamber Music Department of the UP College of Music in Diliman, the featured artists in this concert are guitarist Lester Demetillo, guest narrator Patricia Silvestre, and pianist Geraldine Gonzales.
